Peer Pressure A high school custodian recently had his faith in the younger generation renewed. Seems that while the school Coke machine continued to be duped by metal slugs covered in aluminum foil, the custodian began finding a few look-alikes with a real quarter wrapped inside! "Dead Mans Hand" In 1876, James Butler Hickock  was shot in the back of the head while playing low stakes poker in Deadwood, Dakota Territory.  At the time, Wild Bill was holding two pair: black aces and black eights. No one knows exactly what the fifth card was, but reports indicate it may have been the nine of diamonds. Since his death, the two pair combination of aces and eights has been commonly referred to as a "Dead Man's Hand." Wild Bill was 39 years of age, and the shooter's name was Jack McCall.
	The Way Home A third grade student reported to the school nurse with flu like symptoms.  Feeling the child's misery, the nurse offered to take her home if the little girl could provide directions.  The girl proudly nodded in the affirmative. So off they went, with the youngster pointing the way: two blocks straight ahead then a left turn, three blocks and a right, two more blocks before another left. They continued on this zigzag pattern for quite some time when the nurse felt compelled to ask, "Are you POSITIVE you know the way home?" "Yes, ma'am," the little girl replied indignantly, "This is EXACTLY the way the school bus takes me every day!"
